Youth Group
Our youth need some alternatives to the self centered secular shallow values that they are subjected to every day through music and the media. Bill Findley the The Director of Family Ministires along with Mary Ellen Barbieri provide leadership for the youth of our church and encourage them to value themselves and value each other. The message that God loves you and you are OK just the way you are is an important message to be given at a critical time.
Teen agers are questioning who they are and what their values are and these are questions we encourage them to ask. We also suggest that some if not all the answers to many of their real life situations can be found in scripture and all their concerns can be discussed in the confidential forum of the youth group. Your children are making decisions and if you want help during these years then SCBC Youth Program is there to help you.
The goal of our Youth Ministry is to develop youth of character who have a good understanding of their own values and can withstand peer pressure and be encouraging leaders for others. We teach them how to worship, how to pray, and how to make sense of some scriptures which may seem dated and obsolete in a modern world.
